Nick Fisher

Nick is an accomplished corporate executive, Naval Officer and professional engineer with a wealth of experience in leadership and management roles across a diverse range of challenging, high-pressure environments in both the commercial and military sectors.  Nick is able to provide valuable experience in business development; program, project and operations management; coupled with an in depth appreciation of Naval and Military operations on both land and sea.


Commercially, Nick gained experience in the operations support sector focussed on the provision of support services, including asset protection, risk management, HSSE and medical, to commercial, government and non-government agencies in austere and remote environments within the Middle East, Central Asian and Africa regions.  A proven Business Development Director, Nick has experience of operating in the commercial environment across the Middle East (GCC), Europe and the USA.  Most recently, Nick has successfully led the development and capture of new business opportunities totalling some $100m+, thereby increasing employer revenues by an average of 75%.  Keen to integrate his technical background with the asset protection and risk management sector knowledge that he has developed in the commercial sector, Nick is a principal in Alazen, a technology integration focussed corporation operating predominantly in the Middle East and Europe.

 

Prior to entering the corporate sector Nick served for 10 years in the Royal Navy, initially as a Weapon Engineer Officer, responsible for teams of technical specialists providing weapons, sensors, communications and IT systems in support of maritime operations globally.  Following a short period in Naval recruitment, Nick undertook a period of military training leading to appointments in the UK and Afghanistan firstly as Chief of Staff to a UK Special Forces (UKSF) operation in Kabul and latterly as the UKSF advisor to the ISAF Special Operations Command and Control Element.  Following the reoccurrence of a lower limb injury, Nick spent his final year of service managing the provision of specialist equipment to UK forces deployed on operations and revising strategic policy on such matters.

Nick currently holds a MSc in Engineering and Management; post graduate qualifications in Financial Management, Marketing, Business Operations and Strategy; BEng(Hons) in Electronic Engineering; Certificate and Diploma in Leadership and Management and a Certificate in Terrorism Studies.  Additionally Nick is a certified and registered practitioner in the globally recognised UK OGC Managing Successful Programmes (MSP); Projects in Controlled Environments (PRINCE) 2 and Management of Risk (M_o_R) methodologies.  Professionally Nick is a member of the Institutes of Engineering and Technology and Leadership and Management.

 

Socially Nick enjoys a range of sports and outdoor pursuits including Rugby, Cricket, Hill Walking, Snow Boarding and Scuba Diving.  Currently residing in Dubai, Nick is married to Amy and they have a young son Samuel.
