Chief Financial Officer
Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981 having spent his training years in the London office of Ernst & Young. Gaining early experience in the world of corporate insolvency, Mark became involved in a specialised advisory department in E&Y and subsequently left the profession, investing in a venture capital backed client company making technical self-adhesive products for the automotive and aerospace industries.
Mark has subsequently been Finance Director in a number of successful venture capital backed manufacturing companies in activities varying from re-chargeable battery components to carbon fibre pre-pregging and with size ranging from £10m to £70m. He was also Finance Director of a computer software company acting as a VAR for a mid-range ERP system. He has significant Board experience which he combines with a strong commercial background to give wide ranging practical financial guidance.
More recently, Mark was seconded to the head office of Umeco, a £210m turnover UK based quoted company, where he was a key member of the team that undertook the £150m disposal of a trading division. He then became a member of the senior management team that managed the £274m acquisition of the plc by a US quoted company.
Mark has had significant involvement in key areas of financial control, including system implementation, mergers & acquisitions, divestments, raising finance, risk and control environment management and strategy.
Mark is a qualified Yachtmaster and enjoys sailing with his wife, whenever he can.
